AB This paper illustrates the contribution of sociobehavioural research to
the development of HIV/AIDS prevention education programs, and to the
development of relevant service models for treatment. It focuses on work
undertaken in the HIV/AIDS Sociobehavioural Research Unit at Melbourne
University, and presents a range of research studies using a variety of
methodologies, from intensive case studies to national surveys of safer
sex practice and knowledge.
